I’m writing a book about ableism, and selling it is the tricky part. My sales for Living Brave, my first book, weren’t stellar: it earned stars and high-profile endorsements and an article in the Washington Post and a spot on Delilah’s radio show, but it sat on more shelves than it left.
It’s easy to be cruel to myself about that.
I know I poured my heart into each sentence, the paragraphs capturing the raw emotions of the first six months after Lee died. I am proud of it… yet.
